About Visiting Author - Oge Mora
On October 21st, Oge Mora will be visiting Meadowbrook! Oge is an award-winning author and illustrator whose vibrant, collage-style picture books celebrate family, community, generosity, and connection. Her debut picture book, Thank You, Omu!, received a Caldecott Honor, the Coretta Scott King/John Steptoe New Talent Illustrator Award, and the Ezra Jack Keats Book Award. Her other books include Saturday, The Oldest Student: How Mary Walker Learned to Read, Everybody in the Red Brick Building, Shaking Things Up: 14 Young Women Who Changed the World, and The Yellow Bus.
Oge will be speaking to JK–2nd grade during her visit to Meadowbrook. We are so excited to welcome her and give our younger students the opportunity to meet the author and illustrator behind books many of them already know and love!
Our Visiting Author Fund comes from the Meadowbrook Book Fair and from our book sales. Every book sold helps support future author visits at Meadowbrook.
Please consider purchasing one (or more) of Oge’s books for your child! All books purchased will be personally signed by Oge and delivered to students’ cubbies after her visit. If you are ordering for more than one child, please indicate on the order form which book should go to which child. Please also include the grade level. The deadline to purchase Oge’s books through Meadowbrook’s online store will be October 19th.
